How to Resize and Crop Images

The Image Resizer lets you change image dimensions and crop to specific aspect ratios — locally in your browser.

  1. Upload an image by dragging or clicking.
  2. Enter target dimensions or select a preset aspect ratio (1:1, 16:9, 4:3).
  3. Download the resized or cropped image.

Image Resizing Best Practices

When resizing images, maintain the aspect ratio to avoid distortion. Downscaling (reducing size) is generally safe and produces sharp results. Upscaling (enlarging) uses interpolation, which can introduce blurriness — avoid enlarging by more than 2x. For web use, aim for the display size at 2x resolution for retina screens (e.g., 800px display width → 1600px image).

Why Use Our Image Resizer?

  • Resize and crop — both operations in one tool.
  • Aspect ratio presets — common ratios for social media, web, and print.
  • Batch support — resize multiple images at once.
  • No upload — everything stays in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I resize without losing quality?

Downscaling preserves quality well. Upscaling inevitably introduces some blurriness because new pixels must be interpolated from existing ones.

What sizes should I use for social media?

Common sizes: Instagram (1080x1080), Twitter header (1500x500), Facebook cover (820x312), LinkedIn banner (1584x396). The preset buttons cover these.

Does it support batch resizing?

Yes. You can upload multiple images and resize them all to the same dimensions.

Are my images private?

Yes. Resizing happens in your browser. No images are uploaded.
